Week 3; Friday Night; Faize Sheifa Beleth
[ This isn't like her-- rather, this sort of antsy, sadness-dampened anxiety is fitting for neither a princess nor a knight, and Alisha has told herself this sternly more than once as she's tried to relax both mind and body enough to rest for the night.
But, for the eighth time in a row, it isn't working, and she finally decides that maybe she's going about this the wrong way. Maybe she shouldn't try to shove it all down on her own. She'd fared better with company this week; maybe that would help?
After an additional moment of going through her options - Selena had already dealt with her tears yesterday, Gilbert didn't sleep enough as it was, she'd rather not alarm Papyrus or Undyne - she makes her decision.
And that is why Faize, should he answer the knock at his door, will find a princess in a nightgown, hair unbound and looking both melancholy and apologetic. ]
My apologies, for disturbing your rest...

...It's alright. I'm not sure you could even call it a disturbance, since I'd yet to fall asleep. [Though, honestly, Alisha could probably get away with it even if he HAD fallen asleep.] What is it you need?
[Because obviously everything is not okay, so he's not even going to waste his breath on that question. And she obviously needs him for SOMETHING, otherwise she wouldn't be here.]
no subject
In the end, none of that actually emerges, because when she does try to talk, her throat gets impossibly tight, and much to her horror, her vision starts to blur with tears. ]
no subject
[Then she starts crying.]
Alisha!? Alisha, what is it? What's wrong?
[Is it the dead bodies...it's probably the dead bodies. Or maybe the motive is having some lingering after effects? His hands sort of hover in the air like he's debating putting them on her shoulders. Should he do that or is that a bad move? What is the protocol for crying girls? He has no clue.]
no subject
Confide a little more in Faize had been the plan, not break down in tears while he sounds alarmed. ]
I-I'm sorry, I-- I'm just--
[ THIS IS NOT HELPFUL. ]
no subject
I-It's alright. [Well, no, it's clearly not alright, but it's alright that she's crying? It's not something she has to apologize for, even if he has no idea what to do about it.] Here come sit down for a moment...
[If she'll let him, he'll attempt to gently steer her into his room. Probably a little forward, but better than just letting her stand out in the hallway and cry, right?]
no subject
Okay, this could have gone better. ]
no subject
[If she happens to look around she'll find that his room is neat and tidy. Really the only thing of note is a small collection of unopened liquor bottles and general store snacks over by the TV. Tokens from Bill's visit on Tuesday.]
[He offers her the tissues when he makes his way back over to the bed. He doesn't sit down though, since he's really not sure if that's the best course of action at the moment. So awkward, concerned hovering it is.]
no subject
[ After she'd tried so hard to cling to her composure earlier... ]
no subject
[Seriously, couldn't we have had like...a stabbing interlude between blunt force trauma and graphic evisceration? Kind of work our way up to the gross stuff?]
Or is it...something else that has caused you such distress?
[Bad dream maybe?]
no subject
[ She folds the tissue into a neat little square, resting her trembling hands in her lap. ]
A knight should be more disciplined than this, I know that, but... I can't stop thinking about it.
[ The rest of her simply won't listen to logic right now. ]
no subject
[He's still stuck on the part where the two of them likely fought one another, possibly while BOTH were drugged. There's only one thing he can think of to explain that, and he really doesn't like the sound of it.]
Perhaps by a knight's standards, it is a lack of discipline. Truly, I would not know, as I know little of knighthood. But...what I do know for certain is that this is proof of a compassionate heart. And such a trait cannot be frowned upon.
And besides, I would not say you are completely lacking in discipline. Disturbed though you were, you still took the time to examine Youko did you not?
no subject
And it's as you said... I'm concerned about what tomorrow will tell us. In that manner... I fear that sleeping at all might be impossible.
-- Ah, but I won't stay too long, I know you need your rest--
no subject
[Just as he doesn't hold it against Hinata for needing to leave. It is what it is.]
Is there anything I can do to help you take your mind off it? Difficult though it may be to do otherwise, dwelling on the murders before all the evidence is accounted for will not do you as much good as a night's rest.
no subject
[ And she finally musters a smile, frail as it is. ]
So if you'd be willing to talk with me about... ah, anything not murder-related...
no subject
I can do that.
[He takes a seat on the opposite bed.]
I'd offer you a legend in exchange for the one you shared with me the other day, but I'm afraid my people have very few legends we still cling to. And the ones we do do not make for much of a story. So...

[Just thinking about this is enough to make his eyes light up a little in excitement. He's really passionate about space travel, it's the best thing. Let him go back to space.]
Though my time working alongside my spacefaring brethren did not last nearly as long as I'd always hoped. Whilst in the middle of routine investigations, our crew was called to aid our Earthling allies, who had crashed on a nearby planet. Their first attempt at planetary exploration had not gone quite as smoothly as they'd hoped. [He chuckles in a fond sort of way. It happens to the best of us, sometimes you just kinda fuck up and crash into a planet.] In a rather surprising, but fortunate turn of events, I was reassigned to a composite team with two Earthlings, Edge and Reimi. And the three of us were sent out to continue both our people's planetary exploration efforts while our comrades stayed behind on Aeos to explore the planet and repair the damage done to the rest of Earth's ships.

[ Really, there are a lot of terms she can't quite understand, but Faize's enthusiasm is plain to see, and she can grasp most of what he's explaining. So he'd assisted other people during an exploration and ended up traveling with them... ]
How wonderful, getting a chance to explore the unknown and different locations! That must have been incredibly exciting!
no subject
[But as is, Faize just seems to get even more excited. He is just really fucking passionate about this, apparently.]
Indeed, it truly is! It's been a long-standing dream of mine, I suppose you could say. And to finally have the chance to live it is truly nothing short of amazing. And my companions have only made it all the moreso.
WEREN'T YOU GOING TO BED
[ Even Alisha had been given the chance to venture out of Ladylake for awhile, to learn of things she wouldn't have been able to encounter otherwise.
Besides, Faize is cute when he's excited. ]
look....i got there eventually......
[Hero worship, it seems, is yet another thing that Faize has absolutely no middle ground on. Either there is none at all, or it's above and beyond.]
no subject
[ This 'Edge' certainly sounds like an impressive person... ]
no subject
[And yet...]
Of course! I look forward to the day that I can finally stand on equal ground with him. Though...I am worried for him, admittedly. He cares deeply for others, and for his planet, and shortly before I found myself here, that kindness and trust was taken advantage of. I have no doubt he will recover from such a blow, but it seems that it will take time. And it pains me to know that I cannot support him when he needs it most.
[He trails off, before looking suddenly shocked. Like he only just realized what he said.]
Ah! My apologies, we are supposed to be speaking of brighter subjects. I should have kept that to myself, please forget that I mentioned it.
[Has he been bottling up all of his feelings these past three we-- yes.]
no subject
If something pains or troubles you, you certainly shouldn't keep it to yourself. We're friends;I'm more than happy to listen.
no subject
However, I must admit...I do find you one of the easiest to talk to here.
no subject
[ She did show up outside of his room in a nightgown, after all. ]
I feel as though just getting the opportunity to speak about things at all can help more than staying silent, even if we can't reach a solution...
no subject
[He shakes his head.]
But still, I would prefer not to discuss it further at the moment. With the trial looming before us, you have more than enough to worry about tonight. We all do. And I'm not certain such a discussion would help either of us sleep any better tonight.
no subject
But thank you, for listening to me in the first place.
no subject
You are welcome, of course. I was made with two perfectly functioning ears, it would be a shame not to be able to put them to use listening. And as you said...we are friends, yes? It would be rude not to extend the same courtesy of listening to your troubles.
no subject
I wouldn't consider it rude... but I do appreciate it. It's somehow easier to settle myself around you.
[ Will she be able to sleep tonight? Still hard to say, but she's glad she came. ]
no subject
I am glad to hear that. [Especially given his designation. His shame....... He's pure, he swears. See how perfectly safe it is to come to his bedroom at night?] And I hope that it will be enough for you to rest easy once you have returned to your room.
[He'd offer to let her stay since there are two beds and all, but that would be 2forward.]
no subject
I'm sure it will be, but I suppose I should test that.
... Have a good night, Faize.
no subject
[But he'll move towards the door to let her out.]
And you as well, Alisha.
